» History
WavGen was founded in 1996 and was formerly known as DBS GmbH and then Terratracer Incorporated. Much of our work has been associated with large format feature films, television broadcasts, and software developed in the game industry. We have been reknown for the Tour de France technology using satellite data and maps and are still involved with this event for the ASO World picture through our cooperation with Trimaran France and the source of satellite and aerial data (IGN - Institut Geographique Nationale). Our technology has also been used on several prime time reality television shows such as "Survivor", ABC and OLN productions "Global Extreme 4-Runners of Adventure", and "Amazing Race". Many producers of nightly television shows have hired artists using our technology to spatially represent material for National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, and the History Channel. Our impressive technology can also be seen on IMAX namely the IMAX 3D production "Wild Safari 3D" produced by ben Stassen of nWave Digital and nWave Pictures and the Tour de France IMAX production "Wired to Win" produced by Bayley Silleck and Ben Stassen out of Canada and the USA (NSF).
