» Company Profile
WavGen's core team has been writing shaders and developing computer graphics pipelines since the early nineties. You would be surprised to know that much of the early work in Maya, Lightwave, Softimage, and Studio Max came from our team. We are located in the heart of the visual effects industry and are in touch with the trends and latest news. We can therefore react quickly and deliver quality software and hardware integration.
We are primarily focused on supplying computer graphics companies with the ability to load model and render extremely large UV maps and textures.
Our focus in software integration came from the desire to reduce render times, while perfecting render performances across networks and render farms. To our surprise early in 1998, we found that the use of a particular wavelet encoding function also allowed the use of massively large textures in rendering whilst not being limited to RAM. Even now with the onset of 64bit technology and 16GB of RAM in an average render node or workstation, we still find it remarkable that our software technology is still very much applicable to the rendering communities (pre-rendering as well as real time). Especially those customers who wish to visualize geodata.
We are network and storage savvy and understand the distributed rendering communities needs and can therefore deploy easy-to-integrate tools, plugins, and render technologies. We can also offer customers enterprise-class image processing, data mining, remote sensing, and photogrammetry, using a wealth of knowledge gained over many years during the implementation of our products and processes into existing systems and pipelines, as well as custom pipeline and work flow installations.
